Roth was later replaced by Sammy Hagar. It took almost two years for the band to release their next album, their first with Sammy Hagar. In 1986, Van Halen released their next album titled 5150. The album reached number 1 on the charts and sold around over 6 million copies in the U.S. The album’s hits included “Dreams”, “Why Can’t This Be Love”, and “Love Walks In”. Van Halen waited another two years to release their next album. In April of 1988, Van Halen released their eighth album titled OU812. The album sold slightly less than 5150 selling a little over 4 million copies. The album included the hit “When It’s Love”. Throughout the 90’s Van Halen released two more albums with Sammy Hagar. The albums only had one hit which was “Right Now”. In 1996, Van Halen released a greatest hits album. Sammy Hagar left the band short after due to dissatisfaction and the hiring of former vocalist David Lee Roth to do vocals on a few songs. Van Halen got there third vocalist, Gary Cherone, for their next album. In 1998, Van Halen released their first and only album with Cherone. The album was very unsuccessful barely selling 500000 copies and receiving little appreciation from the public. Since the 90’s, Van Halen has released one studio album with vocalist David Lee Roth, a greatest hits album, and a live album. Bassist Michael Anthony left the band shortly after the greatest hits album in 2004. He was replaced by Eddie Van Halen’s son, Wolfgang. Van Halen still plays concerts today.
