You’re probably wondering why Aerosmith is spelled completely wrong. It’s just a typo. Ignore it. Okay back to Aerosmith. Aerosmith is an American rock band formed in the early 1970’s. Original members include vocalist Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Ray Tabano. Aerosmith released their self-titled debut album in 1973. Although the album didn’t chart very high, it did include the hit “Dream On”. Aerosmith released their second album a year later. Get Your Wings, charted slightly higher than its predecessor, but not enough to top the charts. The band would hit the mainstream with their third album, Toys in the Attic. Toys in the Attic was released in 1975 and topped the charts with the hits “Sweet Emotion” and “Walk This Way”. After the third album’s released, Aerosmith’s previous two albums also moved up in the charts all three going platinum. This album would mark the height of their popularity in the 1970’s. The band released a couple albums including a greatest hits album after but the band’s popularity declined after multiple members suffered from drug and alcohol abuse. In 1987, Aerosmith released the album Permanent Vacation which brought the band back into popularity. The album sold more than any of Aerosmith’s previous albums. The album had the singles “Rag Doll” ,“(Dude) Looks Like a Lady”, and “Angel”. Aerosmith released their next album, Pump, in 1989. The album proved to be more popular than Permanent Vacation and had the hits “The Other Side”, “Love in an Elevator”, and “Janie’s Got A Gun”. Aerosmith released the album Get a Grip in 1991 which was just as successful. Aerosmith has released a few albums since 1991, but none were as popular as their late 1980’s albums. The band still does concerts today.
